"The documents puroported to show...."
"We can no longer vouch for their authenticity"
"provided by Bill Burkett. He did not come to us; we went to him and ASKED him for the documents."
"got them from a different source, one we cannot verify."
Burkett:
"Well I didn't TOTALLY mislead you, I did mislead you on the one individual. You know your source pressured me to give them the source."
"I simply threw out a name...to get the pressure off for a moment"
Claims did not forge anything.
Rather:
"Burkett still insists the documents are real."
"I'm sorry."

Why did CBS all of a sudden go to Burkett ? Who told them to go to Burkett. Its not like he was an unknown player in this ? Did the DNC tip CBs off ?

So it's nobody's fault. It happened somewhere in the ether.
Maybe it was Bob from "Twin Peaks".

"provided by Bill Burkett. He did not come to us; we went to him and ASKED him for the documents." Question: How did they know to go to Burkett? (DNC?)
