When was the last time you were there? What did your last polling data say about their attitudes. You have said that there are relatively few there who are of the lunatic Islamist fringe .... on what do you base this?

I trust the President, his advisers and the World's greatest ever military professionals. I have no choice. The situation, as they say, is "fluid". I know President Bush's wisdom and heart and intelligent agenda, I've seen Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Meyers and Pace and allies like Blair, Allawi, Berlusconi and Karzai et al in action, and they have my proxy. It's that simple.

I'm still waiting for someone to give a tactical reason why a nuke makes more sense than conventional weapons, or to give a reason better than fury for switching our strategy in the middle of the war. Still waiting for the anger to be focused into a clear argument that can be joined, if it makes sense, or rebutted with reason.

I understand what you are saying, but I think you have much of it wrong. Some here are angry and are venting... others want strong action. I see that you've been a FReeper since April Fools day of this year. I'm not sure what you think of the site and those here, but they are a great group of people. I wish I had them as my neighbors. We are dealing with an enemy that you cannot negotiate with, you cannot bargain with, you cannot walk away from, you cannot surrender to (hopefully the French will learn that someday), you cannot reason with, and you cannot otherwise engage in any type of dialogue. We have decentralized religious factions that hit and run.... melting away into the shadows of sympathizers. The lunatic Islamists face almost no condemnation or even slight criticism from other Islamic groups. This is very disturbing. Yes, we are America and we do not bomb indiscriminately, but others (like Russia) may. What I do know is that these people want to kill all of us. They want to cut your head off along with your family. You cannot reason with them, you can only kill them. They want an Islamic world, and nothing will stop them until they are dead. We could end our support of Israel and pull all Americans out of the Middle East and they would still want us dead. I think where you and I disagree is on where they are and how many there are.
