"How much did Burkett get paid, and by whom?"

Money may indeed have changed hands. Here is what has been widely reported elsewhere:

"Burkett told Cleland that he had information that the Kerry campaign could use to ''counter the swift boat ads.'' Mr. Burkett stated he asked Cleland ''if they wanted to counterattack or ride this to ground and outlast it, not spending any money."

So money may have been part of discussion.

If not for money, what would be the purpose of any meeting or conversation? Last I heard, UPS and the postal service delivers to 60 minutes several times a day.

No, money was definately exchanged.

If money came from the ketchup lady ms. heinz, then we have campaign fund laws being broken too. McCain will not be happy with that. :-)

It would certainly be an ironic twist in this if they paid for the documents with counterfeit bills. :)
