If Rather and company come out and say that the documents are fake, but we still think or feel that their accusations are correct, that would be a new low for journalistic standards. The "I can't prove it, but I believe it" argument would dramatically demonstrate that Rather wasn't taken on path he didn't want to travel. Which in turn, we prove that CBS has a huge liberal bias. Surely, CBS wouldn't allow Dan to completely sink CBS?
