I've often heard Seattle referred to as Boston-West. Having come from the San Diego area about 10 years ago, I can say without a doubt that I agree..

Imagine a city that puts up with an executive who threatens to close all the parks in King County unless they agree to raise their own taxes. (They did)

Imagine a city that tolerates Jim McDermott and Patty Murray... (They do)

Imagine a city that welcomes WTO protests and then is surprised when they trash downtown (They were)

Imagine a city that denegrates businesses so much that their biggest business decides to flee to Chicago (They did...)

Yup, I love the rivers and the lakes, but the people are nuts up here.
