I would like to thank the Vietnam Veterans that served when America needed them then and now. Thank you for your loyalty to your country. We love you!

Very well done article. And long overdue.
I was in Normandy this June for the 60th anniversary of the allied invasion. I had the privilige to meet many veterans of that and many other campaigns in Europe.
Much has been written over the years of what they accomplished. And I will not add to that body of prose. I will just comment that I have never encountered any group of men where greatness and humility came together in such a profound way.
An extraordinary group of Americans, to be sure.

.....the Greatest Generation. For the honor of the Greatest Generation, I would nominate the World War One Generation.
The World War One Generation fought World War One, survived the Depression and raised the World War Two generation.

The World War Two Generation survived the Depression, fought World War Two and raised the Baby Boomer generation.

Superbly written...a reminder to those who have forgotten that it is the heroic armed forces who preserve our freedoms not the toads of academia and the superficially stunted world of hollywood.

The World War Two Generation survived the Depression, fought World War Two and raised the Baby Boomer generation. They also voted to raid the treasury and stick their children with the bill (and some people wonder where the selfishness of the Boomers comes from). There are great people within every generation, but the "Greatest Generation" isn't so great.
