McCain very carefully went through the Kerry minefield..He did not want to open old wounds.

That's weak. The wounds have never closed, so he need not worry about opening them.

McCain was asked if he thought the memos were fake. He replied that he had no idea. --- How is that possible? Has he spent the past week under a rock?

John McCain had lots of support from folks on this forum and others during the 2000 primary season.

What happened to those supporters?

He hasn't held his own Senate investigation into it?..O'Reilly says he never trusts anyone else's investigations for his accusations...;)
McCain has to maintain his media darling status...

McCain was his old mean self attacking Bush indirectly. When asked what Bush should do about the NG issue, McCain responded that like any other scandal, Bush should get all the information out there and put it behind him. Even when Wallace asked him about the word scandal, he didn't back off nor did he give an opinion on the forged memos. McCain went into some detail about Kerry's honorable service in Vietnam emphasizing the word combat. He also mentioned his working with Kerry on the MIA issues.

>Edwards is the one who's going to be facing Cheney with these Halliburton charges.

>It'll be must see TV.

It 'll be interesting. Cheney will say, "I am proud in serving a company that serves our Military for decades. Over 45 Haliburton employees died in Iraq while serving our Military. Your trial lawyer friend (Ramsey Clark, who BTW arranged Rather's Saddam interview) is defending Saddam now."
