Currently it's a close race. But top honors go to Hugh Hewitt. He has mastered the talk radio format, and intertwined it with the internet/blogosphere. To me he's the leading edge at the moment. When big news is breaking, this is the show I cannot wait to hear.

Hewitt has a lot of regular guests too, it's less of a monologue than some others.. Steyn, Fred Barnes, Claudia Rosett, Lileks are regulars, among others.

And sometimes he will have special episodes such as a entire show interviewing the likes of Victor Davis Hanson.

Today Hewett did a talk-like-a-pirate segment where he wouldn't talk to any caller unless they talked like Wallace Berry in Treasure Island.

It may not have been the stupidist thing I've heard lately, but it was definitely in the running.
