Does it make the truth any less factual because it wasn't an "expert" in typography who initially noticed the problems with the memos? The thing that gets me is that after all the debunking, they proved to be such amateurish and obvious fakes. Dan Rather is supposed to be an expert newsman. 'Nuff Said.
And, we need to quit calling them forgeries. Forgery has a different meaning than does a fake. When you forge a check, you're only forging the signature. Fakes are much more serious than forgeries.

To my way of thinking the fact that the were spotted as fakes by someone with no document authenication training shows what a pethetic forgery they are, and what a pathetic "news" organisation C.B.S is.

I don't know. Fakes doesn't sound serious. Forge sounds legally prohibited. Now frauds...
