I saw that as I was getting home this afternoon from Quantico - we were headed south. Crossed right in front of me and the guy driving then it looked like it headed down Stafford Courthouse Road (Exit 140) westbound. Traffic was almost standing still. About another mile down the road (mile marker 139), you could see where it crossed the median. Trees were down, the left lane blocked by an ambulance (a car had it the guardrail), and there was debris (sticks and leaves) covering the entire interstate. I wish I had a camera with me - it was quite a sight.

My brother and SIL live in Centreville, near Dulles. I had called them a little while ago and didn't get an answer.

Probably just phone systems overloaded... OTOH, one of the tornadoes went pretty much straight up 28 through Centreville, Chantilly, Dulles, and from hear tell, right through the AOL Campus >:-D

We get twisters here in Oklahoma every spring and fall, but you never get used to it. We've been lucky so far.

They just said the warnings stretch from Myrtle Beach to Northern Pennsylvania.

WTOP had a caller than described a tornado spinning right past the AOL campus.

Nevermind. I'm bad. Been there, done that. Wasn't aware those specific features were available in the radar summary there.
