Hinderaker (and Buckhead) in the round -- We are show prep for the talk show hosts... Welcome to the changing face of history. Buckhead and Howlin changed the political landscape. Rush is still the king, but we are the tip of the sword at this game, IMHO.

NYT Editorial: Measuring the Blogosphere -- I would much rather read the blogs than the NY Times. The people in PowerLine and PoliPundit are more reliable and don't make up stories. Hoist Upon Her Own Petard--
Nancy Clark writes a sports column for the Des Moines Register. Bloggers could be forgiven for having never heard of her, but she certainly has heard about bloggers, if yesterday's column gives any indication. She gives vent to a hilarious rant about the credibility of the Exempt Media while denigrating bloggers ... and manages to unwittingly demonstrate why the blogosphere exists in the first place.
Read the rest ( and much, much more ggod stuff ) here:

It's fun to be present at the revolution. And even more fun to be on the winning side.

Open Letter to the MSM Part Two. We are indeed kicking your tails. Are you surprised? Were not. -- As I write this, you folks are breathlessly covering a wacked-out tool of the left as she continues to throw feces at her sons grave. No matter that there are 10 times as many folks just on the other side of the road that strongly appose her who your cameramen and anchors, cant seem to find. Look to the RIGHT. See them waving at you in the
Club Gitmo T-shirts? You cant miss them. Or, I guess you can, huh? I could go on, but the word is out. You are dying, and we are just getting started. Me and my buddies in the Pajamahdeen are taking you to the cleaners
The bottom line is that more Americans love America more than they like you.
Video Greeting to All FReepers from Deborah Johns, "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy!"-- Thanks for this. We are witnessing history being made. Conservatism unchained. New Media foreshadows freedom from Olds Media bondage.

The Three C's of Blogging, What the blogosphere is doing to help (Free Republic Mentioned) -- Compassion, connection, and correction... Finally, correction, as in the sort that follows from accountability. There aren't going to be any secrets in this story, at least not for long. When Fox News's Major Garrett broke a story on Wednesday afternoon that Red Cross senior officials were confirming that Louisiana state officials had blocked the supply of water, food, blankets, and hygiene products to the Superdome, it was only moments later that the story had been picked up on
FreeRepublic, and Garrett was booked and interviewed on my radio show. (Transcript here.)

Here's Powerline's own timeline of how it went down:
http://powerlineblog.com/archives/007808.php
September 12, 2004
Quote: |
Early Thursday morning, Minneapolis lawyer Scott Johnson was in his basement home office, preparing to link some morning news reports to the site he co-authors, when a reader sent an e-mail about Buckhead.
Intrigued, Johnson, whose online ID is "The Big Trunk," put a link on his site, PowerLine Blog.com, to Buckhead's post.
Then the floodgates opened.

Mary Mapes Hits Bloggers and MSM in Upcoming Book. This latest quote from Mapes book is stupid and dishonest in so many ways it boggles the mind:
Faxing changes a document in so many ways, large and small, that analyzing a memo that had been faxed -in some cases not once, but twice -was virtually impossible. The faxing destroyed the subtle arcs and lines in the letters. The characters bled into each other. The details of how the typed characters failed to line up perfectly inside each word were lost.
In other words, shes arguing that faxing a typewritten document from the 1970s is more likely to make it appear as if it were printed with modern proportional typefaces, and would alter the spacing to exactly match a Microsoft Word replica.

Media: Insult At Your Own Risk -- Nothing drives these has-beens battier than talk radio... Former MSM member Jessica McBride (formerly of the Freeman and the [Milwaukee] Journal Sentinel) is now a blogger. Her old collegues are apparently aghast that she dares to report on the unending bias demonstrated by her former employers. McBride seems shocked that they're mad at her. As she is new to this new media/counterculture thing, I'll warn her that it'll only get worse. They can't stand a turncoat.
