O'Reilly's Blunder Today

Posted on 09/16/2004 9:41:39 PM PDT by ArmedNReady

Today, on the Radio Factor, Bill O'Reilly had just finished telling a caller that he (Bill) had studied everything there was to know about John Kerry and his plans, when the caller asked him why he felt that Kerry would be strong on defense. The called said that Kerry said he would withdraw all of the troops from Iraq in 6 months, then 2 years, then 5 years. To which O'Reilly replied that Kerry never said he would withdraw the troops in 6 months and repeatedly to the caller that he was wrong.

I hope he gets the can soon. Surely Murdock can find a way.

My problem, besides the fact that he is a legend in his own mind, is the way Fox treats his program as sacred even in news breaking events. Of course, it must be this way, because he pretapes his program and is not on live as the others. Therefore, Mr Pompous is not available to give live updates.

I used to like O' Reilly, even though I occassionally didn't agree with his opinions.
Then- he was so completely arrogant and dismissive re. the brave Swift Boat Vets (whom as a Viet-era vet I completely admire). This crossed the line. He has lost any trust I had, as well my attendance during his self-serving "factor".

Equating the Swift Boat Vets with kerry's mendatious 527s is too completely repugnant for any "humble correspondent", and is the most ridiculous item of the YEAR. I guess one could say that my viewership stops....here.

uh, he is completely kicking ass in ratings, so how can he be going down? His job isn't to please freepers. he's going for as big an audience as he can get. If he pisses off both sides a bit that would probably just improve his ratings.

Tonight I heard him admit that he was unaware that it's been more than a month since Kerry held a press conference. Yet he wants acceptance as an authoritative, all-knowing analyst. What a twit.

You're right O'Reilly can't keep up with the daily events. I don't think that he uses the internet at all. He must depend on his staff to keep him updated.

Your title says "Blunder" singular. If that is correct, I'd have to say that O'Reilly has an unusually accurate day.

I didn't hear it, but I'm not surprised. O'Reilly is so uninformed that it's a joke. He tries to act like an authority on everything. He's a fraud

He should go back to "Inside Edition"!!!

O'Reilly IS a liberal. And I'll bash him at will for being a liar and a idiot.

I remember his broadcast after Lawrence v. Texas, where he defended the opinion on Fourth Amendment grounds and that was not cited once in the opinion. He needs better writers.

You mentioned Inside Edition and it reminds me that Bill is sounding more and more like his roots in television. Except that I think he is more resembling Jerry Springer. LOL

Listen closely. The Bloviator is not looking out for us. He's on the fence so much that his ass must be killing him. He's driving his conservative base away. He doesn't get it that the liberals don't want him. He's in for a rude awakening. His dismissal of the Swiftvets did it for me.

O'Reilly's problem is simple he playing beltway politics, playing like he's a moderate or Independant.

He has no core except the belief that he is the only one who is right about everything.

Problem is that he is just not right.

It almost a Dan Rather thing.

I quit watching him after the way he treated the swiftboat vets on his show.

I also heard him say that most of us that write letters & emails to defend Bush, are over the top. That it's just a few, not many that do this. I noticed he's a kerryite now! Fox needs to get rid of him!

But please, folks, stop bashing him. He is NOT the enemy, the liberals are, OK? Thank you and have a nice day.:)

He's sounding more liberal everyday!

Yeah, I agree. But I think he has other motives than just being "neutral" all the time. I think he's positioning himself, and Foxnews in general, to be the "go to" source for not only Prime Time news, but Prime Time entertainment in general for a major portion of the viewing audience.

In his mind, he can't get that kind of credibility by bashing liberals every night.

Just be patient with the guy. He's not the enemy.

O'Reilly is having President Bush on his show. I'll watch that one but I've just about had it with O'Reilly.

O-Reilly is not critical of Kerry because he wants Kerry on his show.
O-Reilly is not critical of Rather because he wants Rather on his show.

They will never go on his show. Kerry and Rather keep dangling carrots, neither will ever go on his show. O-Reilly is just muzzling himself for nothing.
