Plus Maddy Albright is associated with PEW in some capacity.

my head is spinning, say that again.

Do you know any specifics of how they changed the questions?

Maybe something like, "it is well known that Bush is a lying, murdering coward--will you be voting for him?"

Exactly, it is very dishonest to compare polls in which the wording of the questions is different.

Pew oversampled republican when bush was up big, oversampled democrats for the latest poll. Also they asked diffent questions on the latest not to mention that 21% of those polled werent even registered voters.

If you haven't found it in the article yet, it's the 8th paragraph from the bottom...comparing the pew and gallup polls.

Under Rasmussen methodology 4 pts lead is huge, since he assumes high Dim turnout, as in 2000.
But both Gallup and Harris are solid, serious pollsters. Obviously, Gallup predicts huge Rep turnout, and Harris (also IBD and Pew) disagrees.
I guess we'll have to wait for the next round of state polling. If W is still well ahead in OH, MO, FL at the end of the month - then he is in excellent shape for the finish stretch

21% were not registered voters? Then that poll means nothing.

I'm praying for a Bush landslide. I can't take a close race.

well, I guess I can, but I sure don't want to.

So it looks like Rather's mockery of mainstream journalism this week has backfired big time on the DNC. I really think that some undecideds out there were pushed over the edge by the whole 60 Minutes debacle. People watched Rather flip them the intellectual partisan bird, and they doth protest.

According to the latest polls, the race is tightening:

Surveys by the Pew Research Center and Harris Interactive had Kerry wiping out a solid lead Bush forged with a month of attacks on his Democratic rival capped by the Republican national convention.

The Pew data showed the Massachusetts senator clawing his way back from a 12-point deficit among registered voters interviewed between September 8 and 10 to a 46-46 percent tie four days later.

A Harris poll of likely voters published in the Wall Street Journal had Kerry up 48-47 percent. The twin findings were in marked contrast to previous surveys that showed Bush opening up a margin of two to 12 points.

Everyone read how PEW conducted their poll and tell me that poll is accurate. Even the liberals within the Kerry camp don't believe it, or they would be walking with more confidence.

Harris was an internet poll, wasn't it? That says it all.

Whatever ones opinion of polls, Gallop just trounced the buzz the Libs were trying to make today that it was tied. LOL

BTW, poll or no poll, Bush is ahead. Read their camp's body language. says it all.
