I see a lot of posts incorrectly faulting the dad here. He needs the benefit of the doubt here.

I don't think he knew what happens at dem events. I think too many people here think like insiders. We all expect union goons at dem rallies and protests. I think he thought that it would be a bunch of dems there simply cheering their guy on. People talk about getting their kids involved in the political process all the time, and that could have very well happened and why he went. I don't know as I can't speak for him.

I know how the left operates firsthand from experience. Most that read FR have seen cases of it posted from time to time. I'm don't think even most of the GOP activists I know even know the tactics of these goons, as most don't counterprotest and see it first hand.

It's easy for us to be armchair QB's after the fact, especially if we've seen it first hand. I don't think the dad was wrong for it. It's shouldn't be too much to ask, even from the goon squad to leave the kids alone.

I just wish he had some backup.

I think he may have had back up. Has anyone every seen those signs in the second photo? They look like they say, A stronger American begins at home'.
