If that were true, then why are they supporting the pro-abort candidate, John Kerry? I'd bet the reality is that a good number of these union goons agree with Kerry's pro-abort stance.
Unions have outlived their usefullness long ago. What they have become is a powerfull leftist/ activist lobby, supporting idiotic causes like greenpeace, enviromentalism, and politics. Members don't even have control over what the union bosses support. Not every member, forced to pay dues, agrees with that the union is doing with their dues.
I for one, lobby to make it illegal in anyway to endorse any political party, or any activist group. Those dues belong to the membership, and should be used only for the membership
We are talking big money here, which could easly go to member paying for their own health care plans.
