Ah, I didn't look at it that way. All depends on what the meaning of "is" is. ;o)

Lost power and telephone service last night, so I will go thru prior posts later today.
First:  Does anyone know the birth date of Major James Bath?
Now:
Back to Mr. Burkett--I still believe he may be a small piece of the puzzle. His Bush Hate is well documented as it pertains to his health problems, NG Service, etc.  But NG Service is not all he is involved in. He is a Cattleman:

Black Oak Cattle, Bill & Nicki Burkett, Baird, TX

I know nothing about the cattle industry-I plead ignorance. There are cows and bulls. And Longhorns. Cattle experts, that's all I know, so forgive my ignorance.

Some listings:

PROVEN CALVING EASE HERD BULL. Red, non-diluter natural son of the fabulous proven Black Max line donor 220B [Gateway and Stagg] and X339U. This bull has been used for three seasons and loaned throughout our area. He is the most Proven Calving Ease bull of any breed within 50 miles of us. He simply works. This is a Blood Red, non-diluter who sires solid patterns on spotted cows; largely black on black. The best calves are exceptional; the average calves are average; and all calves come easy. The closest thing to a Calving Ease Guarantee. $3500. Bill Burkett

National Quality Show prospect. Legacy X Bold Leader. Solid Black, long, deep fancy and stylish. Born March 3, 2004. Weight June 9 - 354# Exceptionally fancy. $2500.

Three Year Old Full Fleck Bull by Broadway. Has been used to date on Angus Cows for SimAngus Calves. The calves are very good and all contracted to an out of state buyer without cuts. 1800#. $2000. Bill Burkett

Burkett's Wild Card. Joker son of the fabulous Gateway Freedom Cow. Solid Black deep and good. Quiet and handles easily. $3000. Bill Burkett

Lot # 50 Meyers Black Destiny 806A Female $2500
Meyers Blk Coalminer 728 X Meyer Ranch 400
Buyer: Bill Burkett, Baird, TXHe is a current Board Member of the American Simmental Association

American Simmental Association Board of Trustees:

I am wondering if the Cattle Associations are non-Partisan or do they favor any side of the aisle? Has Mr. Burkett had any legal problems as a cattleman (not implying anything, looking for information)?  Have there ever been any accusations or investigations into kickbacks, money laundering, etc?  Once again, NOTHING IMPLIED-ONLY LOOKING FOR DOCUMENTED FACTS.

Are any of the visible figures in the Texas Cattle industry well known dem partisans?

Does the person who raises the cattle send it to slaughter or is that a different industry?

And PLEASE do not take offense-asking out of ignorance.  Is the Cattle Industry considered "clean?"
