Here's a photo of David Van Os, the spokesman for Bill Burkett of Memogate fame, addressing a major John Kerry for President rally in Austin last month.
This is the same rally that was headlined by HOWARD DEAN and made pretty big media coverage around the state at the time.
Ugly chicks need to be liberals....oh my GAWD!!!!! She's a ............ er...... got a great personality.... and she can change her own oil and rotate her tires.
She rather resembles her father.

I should say that the Bucky is also the blogosphere's answer to not only the long-tarnished, but also to the oft- and long-discredited poolizter.
Might that not more accurately be: "but also the oft and long-discredited Peee-yeeewlitzer?!"
Indeed. And I'll go one step further - what should a professional news organization know about this?
They ought to "keep book" on the players. If Perry being a donor to te GOP is newsworthy re: Swiftees, surely similar people are involved with DEM events -- and I don't mean just Mr. Soros.
I agree with you but only because I have a gut feel that you are right.
Your statement that Dan Rather would never consider Bill Burkett as an "unimpeachable source" is, however, dead wrong. People on the Left are quite capable of listening to the likes of Bill Burkett and accepting what he says as absolute gospel. Don't doubt it for a minute. You establish your credentials with Rather based on your beliefs, in this case your hatred for George Bush. That is all it takes to become an "unimpeachable source". It's a "he must be telling the truth because I believe everything that he says" kind of circular logic that is characteristic of Left-wing types like Rather.
If I'm not mistaken Dan Rather appeared at a Democrat funraiser a few years ago which was arranged by Burkett. Rather said at the time that he did so as a favor for his daughter who is politically connected to Burkett. Does anyone know the details?
Unless that Kinkos has already been visited by members of the press or by members of the law enforcement community. If they've been interviewed by either, then I would assume they are free to say whatever they want to the public.
I second your analysis. I think Burkett composed the forgeries (he was an Army systems analyst and it has been pointed out the Army language, abbreviations, etc. were used instead of Air Force ones). Burkett, with his ax to grind and unstable mind, shopped them to the DNC, who passed them to Kerry. They knew they were fishy, and sat on them--maybe they were going to dump them as an October surprise and play innocent. But the SBV's put them so much on the defensive, they needed to play the trump card right away, so they sent them to CBS in late August, citing Burkett as the source. Mapes goes down to interview Burkett, who shows her the originals. The trip is made to Kinkos (not to cover tracks as some as suggested), but merely because Burkett does not have a fax machine and he has an account at Kinkos.
CBS does cursory vetting, and voila!, the story hits the airwaves.
And here we are. DNC/Kerry can claim innocence ("heck, we didn't know if the documents were real or not, that's why we sent them to a "real" news outlet to investigate", they'll say). CBS is clearly the culprit--they were complicit in the fraud through their shoddy investigation and partisan blindness.
Omg are you sure they did'nt clone Dan and stick a wig on it?
OK I am convinced that Van Os is clearly a DNC player and his simultaneous representation of Burkett and work for the DNC is highly suspect.
I think its time to swing the searchlight of the blogosphere on to Van Os. At the elast, Texans need to knwo more about this scumbag who is campaigning to be appointed to the Texas Supreme Court.

Clearly Van Os is a big player and much charge $500 and hour for legal representation.
Anyone think Bill Burkett can really afford that or is there some other kind of relationship at work?
