Yep, I don't know for sure but this seems like it would certainly be illegal under Texas Law (forgery or intent to defraud, etc).

But, let's ask the next logical question. Everything I read indicates that this Burkett guy is a real piece of work. However, somebody had to open the front door for him to get into CBS News? I'm sure they get whacked out thoeries faxed into that place by the truckload everyday.

I contend that somebody had to have paved the way for him. Say, by calling ahead to the right people and explaining the story, getting them all excited about it, etc. Then the fax happens and goes on the air immediately from an "unimpeachable" source (aka, the Burkett front person, whom they trust from previous associations, etc). That is the person we should really be looking for and I'll bet that when he/she is found, they have a DNC connection?

Burkitt's lawyer is David?(I think) Van O's...Dem operative, Gore chad counting lawyer in Florida, and Dem candidate for Texas Supreme Court. Can you say connections?

Since they had used him as a source and interviewee before, he could very well have done this for himself. Doesn't mean he wasn't "put up to it" by a DNC connection, or that he himself isn't already connected to the DNC. Since he's a fundraiser and "packager" of contributions, or has been in the past, he's already got the DNC connections.
