For this reason, this mythical header looks like a setup, most likely to blame Birkett and cover up the DNC as a source. CBS could have faxed a copy from Kinko's at the time to cover their tracks in the event their scam blew up.
I think they are setting Burkett up as the scapegoat.

(So there.)
If he did use a computer, it'd be EASY to find out. Someone could go tonight and have a reasonable chance of finding out. We know the date the fax was sent from Kinko's because it's on the document. I used one of the Kinko's computers in North Carolina before. I had to show my ID and sign a log book. There were tons of names in the book from previous days. You'd just have to flip back to the day and approximate time on the fax and who knows what you'll find. Road trip anyone?

I think they used Burkette to put some distance between themselves and the fraud. Probably one of the main actors put Burkett up to it.
The fact that the docs were so easily detected as a forgery and that cBS held back two docs they knew wouldn't pass the smell test, Dan Rather likely knew the game from the get go.
