I have been posting for 2 days that I Saw a CBS fax header on top of some of the documents - but now the documents on the USAToday and CBS site do not contain the FAX header. The old one showed the CBS fax #, the date and time of the fax. I looked for the incoming fax # but did not see it. I think I remember it was a 212 or 2X2 area code...I thought that would be NY.
Sometimes headers print incoming #, or the KinKos or faxperson places a fax header with the retransmit request # on it....that's probably where this trail leads from.
Federal law requires that the valid fax number of the originating fax machine be displayed on any outgoing fax.
If you viewed the pdfs, they should still be in your temporary internet files folder. However, if the Washington Post is reporting on them, we will all see them tomorrow.
This is proof that the Post wants to maintain its credibility, and they will sacrifice anyone to keep their reputation.
At least they will when they are backed into a corner by undeniable truth.
Dude, you are the new Buckhead.
I remembered reading those posts, and just went searching for them. Then when I came back here, I saw your post.
This was from the thread where we were waiting for Rather to make his statement. From the mouths of the pajamarazzi:
Nice work, FReeper.To: ZGuy
While we are waiting....
I saw one of the docs I download (PDF) had the CBS fax info across the very top...I can't find it again now. It had a date/time. Did anybody else see this? The docs on CBS' site now don't have it.

Subpoena the telephone records from the fax machines, from all area Kinkos's.
That's because the ones in the press were taken from the CBS website, but some of the early press versions of the docs were those faxed by CBS to the White House and then released by the White House.
I might be missing your point, but I see nothing nefarious or suspicious here.
