The multiculturalist fantasy is designed to make Americans more accepting of an influential Islamic presence in this country.
As far as I am concerned, Islam is a plague. It will take an event by Muslims as benevolent, as 9/11 was malevolent, to change my mind. If and until then, Muslims are only grudgingly tolerated by me.
