Isn't Houston where Rather started his CBS career? How delicious is that?

I could be wrong but I think he started with KTRH, another Houston station.

Dan Rather used to be reporter at 950KPRC! His photo is on the wall and they threatened to take it off as well if he's not fired by Monday.

.......yes, that's true......Rather was a young reporter with KPRC in the 60s and made his mark by getting out in the middle of Hurricane Carla and giving a live report.....the legend has it that he climbed up into the cupola in the Galveston post office and described the storm swirling around him.

Just about. Rather was born in Wharton, TX, Halloween 1931. Got his start in New Orleans, at the CBS Southern Bureau.

Liar Dan did indeed get his first broadcast job in Houston for a local TV station. He was hired by Bob Levy, the author of a book on baseball, who later became an executive for the Houston Astros. Levy is still a friend of Rather. Rather dedicated one of his books to him. Levy now lives in Washington state, and is a frequent contributor to Delphi forum FANPARKMGR.
