Statement by the President of CBS News, Andrew Heyward:
"We established to our satisfaction that the memos were accurate or we would not have put them on television. There was a great deal of coroborating [sic] evidence from people in a position to know. Having said that, given all the questions about them, we believe we should redouble our efforts to answer those questions, so that's what we are doing."
It took them all day to determine that there ws more investigation needed? Duh!
Just what I thought they'd do.
Clinton would be proud of the parsing. Note he is saying teh content is "accurate" not that they are authentic documents.
That is sic.
Notice he says "accurate" not "authentic."
Big difference... they are hiding on this one.
LOL! Drudge used non-proportional font.
Call your local affilate and express your outrage. These folks are growing tired of this crap.
Maybe Karl Rove really is behind this! Tinfoil hat off.
Time to make dinner for the kids.
In other words: "The documents said what we were hoping they would say, what we wanted them to say -- oh, heck, let's admit it, they hurt the President so we HAD to run with them -- but, now, it looks like we've been caught, so we'll spend some time trying to figure out how to get out of this mess and hope that, if a week or two passes, you'll just forget about it. "Yeah ... that's the ticket!
P.S. we can use MS Word to forge documents, but we can't use it's spell check to fix our spelling!
Clintonesque parsing. CBS NEWS' President can't even admit they have FORGED documents. What questions are they going to answer? These are the same people who demand high standards of others but when it comes to their own sloppiness, they run for the tall grass. Yeah, that's Andrew CYA "taking responsibility" BS Heyward for y'all!

This is a ploy to see if the furor over this dies down. If not they will be forced to fire Danny boy!
Dragging it out till they hear the public scream "no mas".
If we wish hard enough, this will go away.
Does Sumner Redwhateverhisnewnameis have no shame to stop this idiocy?
If it took them 6 hours to come up with the weasel word "accurate" they need better lawyers.
Translation: We need more time to forge more documents.
