According to Laurie Dhue at the bottom of the hour all flights are grounded at LAX due to a "radio problem"...
Not normal here in Columbus either. It's been at least an hour and there is NOTHING in the sky. Fox just keeps saying "the southwest".
I'm right here too. we had one landing in the last 20 minutes.
Uh, yeah, 'cause we live in Hawaii and are returning there tomorrow. Tonight we're across the street from LAX in a hotel.
here comes another one into JFK.
AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!
Still see nothing on approach. We have probably 30 miles of unobstructed visibility towards the east. Usually they are tail to nose as far as you can see on their westbound approach.
When one large hub breaks down, it affects the whole country.
Think winter. Think snow storms.
Listen, y'all....my theory is if this WAS something bad, they would NOT be letting the smaller planes fly, as was normally reported. And I DID just see a plane, flying east...what, less than 10 minutes ago?
And Burbank Karl has AWESOME scanners...he's keeping a close eye on this...he's said that some are taking off.
Honest. I'd relax. At first it sounded goofy...but I don't think so anymore
OK, Spyder. I looked at your profile and saw where you live and said, "Dang! That girl has good ears."
Actually, it's 11:20 EST here. CMH is an international airport...they don't stop running at 11:00. As a pilot, you should know that.
Checked the FAA map. Most of the country is Green dot General Arrival/Departure delays are 15 minutes or less.
So, there is a reporting error, either here or on the FAA site.
It is wonderful there. The Army has been quite good to us ;-) (though hubby has paid his dues with 2 years in Korea unaccompanied and a few months in Kuwait).
What's going on out there?

give it a couple hours...there are 70 sitting in Albequerque
Oh, that's a relief. So, it's just the west coast.
My sis is in Long Beach.
I'd bet the rent, that isn't true in the west.
OK, I'll try :o)
LOL. My hearing is good enough to decipher some physicians' mumbling but not quite THAT good.
set it to 40 miles range...you can click each plane to see what type of aircraft...
the black ones are all police helos...
j/k
Now THAT'S a handy website...thanks...I got nothing on the map screen...that's about right huh?
