This leftward shift by Arnie is happening since the GOP convention. Wonder if he got some not so "fatherly" advice from Karl Rove and GWB when he was there.

One more "Don't-Blame-Me-I-Voted-McClintock" bump.

"Kehoe, an openly lesbian legislator running for the state Senate, said in a letter supporting her legislation that the law is needed because 'registered partners are often denied insurance benefits and coverage, or are unfairly required to pay higher premiums.'"So, while CA is sinking with every passing day, this one's "concerned" her pervert-pals get insurance & to hell with the more urgent, practical needs of that place.
*Great* priorities, eh.
And what's even more bothersome, it appears Schwartzenegger signs-on to the bullcocka, eh?
...what's wrong with that picture?

In addition, some critics argued that it would drive up the cost of health insurance for businesses. It almost certainly will, and then California will sink further into the toilet.
Hey, Vince! Want another state? We'll give it to you, no money down. What? No?

The Republican governor has long been viewed as a moderate liberal on social issues, supporting gay rights, abortion rights and some gun controls. Unlike President Bush, who he has endorsed, Schwarzenegger has not backed a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.
Don't you just love how the leftist media implicitly frames the debate as a battle between tolerant, reasonable, "moderates" on one hand and selfish, mean-spirited conservatives on the other?
To: Euro-American Scum
More likely he got some "uncle-ly" advice.
Or at least some "wifely" advice.
I'm sure his speech was thoroughly vetted by the GOP before he delivered it.

LH

Let's hope the Law Enforcement of the State of California is reduced to Daisy BB guns. Spitballs. Hopefully some reasonable judges can get appointed to the ninth circus and turn things around prior to Kali being ceded to Mexico.

If gays are granted rights, next we'll have to give rights to prostitutes and to people who sleep with St. Bernards and to nailbiters. Anita Bryant
...
Wonder if the St Bernard or the Hooker is the nailbiter......hypothetical question of course......
Stay safe !

How can you prevent it? Besides, there is a new bill awaiting the governor's signature that makes it illegal to criticize homosexuals.

For instance, straight guys or gals that are roommates just out of college. If one of them gets a job with insurance, then they claim the other one as a domestic partner. Who knows perhaps charge their roommate 1/2 of what it cost. TYherefore, one of the roommates will be making money off this law. The company picks up the tab for that roommates coverage. This is not good for business in California. Excellent point. In France, the concept of a "domestic partner" has been extended to include two widowed sisters living together, or a priest and his housekeeper. Why should two lesbians living together be considered "domestic partners" but not two sisters? The sisters, presumably, are not sleeping together -- is that the criteria?

Here's to all the sensible Californians who voted for McClintock. This RINO crap is what we can expect of the future of the Republican party if we don't speak up, folks.
