Ummm... all you have to do to fool the auto-superscript is place a space between the number and the "th" - which shows up frequently in these documents. And it is very simple to use a lowercase "L" as a number 1 - that is just an asinine statement. Well, it's a whole lot safer than defaming live fighter jocks.

I hope it was taken as sarcasm. That is the stupid part of this to believe that the commaning officer of an F102 squadron - who by the way, knew at the time that he was at the end of his career - was concerned about CYA memos or concerned to have picture perfect memos for his personal file.
