I have to correct that part. From the late 50s on, at least, blacks could and did enter any Navy program they were qualified for. Something about spending hours a week swimming at night in freezing cold shark infested waters did not seem to attract many blacks then, or now. It was not "navy policy" to keep them out. There were and are outstanding Navy UDT frogmen and SEALs going way back. Outstanding.

Seems like it would narrow down the field quite a bit. Blacks are around 10% of the population and that would cut the 260 possible SEALs down to 26 or less. That's a pretty elite group. Add to that the ship he was on and you have an even smaller group.
Humans.
I am glad to be your friend.
For any interested I am listed in this fine man's book, Enemies Foreign and Domestic, on the acknowledgement page.
One of the biggest honor that I can point to in my life.
Think about it. It means the world to me to be mentioned by a Real Deal SEAL. How the hell does one lie about being a SEAL???
By the way, I have spoken to Matt and he not only has a laid back voice, but he spoke the truth.
Go get them Matt!!
Note: Everything that I just posted can be verified easily as I am damn proud of it, as I would provide proof that I was SEAL if I ever could have been one!
