Sorry to say my du DUmmy, but it is real active duty complete WITH assignment to a real, active Air Force unit.
I'll also bet his flight school was an active unit and that he was assigned to it and had to wear its insignia/ribbons/whatever.
Silly DUers. Bush got his AFOU {Air Force Outstanding Unit} award while in BMTS (I think). I've got one with 4 OLCs (5 awards). Basically, if your unit does a bang up job you got one. Sometimes you did not even know you got one until you went to CBPO to get a medals rip. I know for a fact that at least 2 of my OLCs were under the RADAR and I did not even know I had them until I checked with CBPO. The thing is that this is a
