In the interest of being totally correct, MCPON is an E-10. See http://www.nps.navy.mil/Code22/milrank.htm
Also, there is NOT one MACM per ship. Only large ships would have an Master At Arms that senior.
[Again, no, I have not served a tour aboard a ship, but I DO know how to do some pajama research.]
Neither does the Globe--or World Globe--or whatever the name is of that "Magazine" at the checkout stands which brought to us BAT BOY.
There is, however, one difference between the AP and The Globe: The latter honestly ADMITS that they don't check source.
BTW: The ONE THING which China does right is WEAR JAMMIES ALL DAY LONG! WHY do we wear uncomfortable things like high-heels and ties?
I don't understand why any society would intentionally avoid comfort.
Actually, in that time-frame -- he wouldn't have been alone..
There were a number of "advisors" in country earlier - and a lot of grunts by 1966.
By the end of the year 1965, 180,000 US troops had been sent to Vietnam.
In 1966 the figure doubled.
80,000 Americans had been killed or wounded in the Vietnam War by summer 1967.
The first OFFICIAL arrival of Marine grunts in Vietnam, was 31Mar65. That date is SEARED, SEARED into my mind!

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day, and may their arms be too short to scratch. AMEN
There are over 3000 Master Chief Petty Officers (MCPO) CURRENTLY SERVING.

MACM is an MCPO in the law enforcement area (Master-At-Arms)
There are several other flavors of MCPOs. You can get some idea from this promotions list:

I FULLY AGREE. We canNOT afford to let them back in to The White House.
So you're telling us that you believe that someone with enough Moxie to become a Seal would be stupid enough to buy into the 'black muslim' crap?
I've got a feeling that she'll dump one of her heels after this game is over.
Seen this one yet?!
I like your tagline. I only have two cheeks, and I only intend on turning one-ONCE.
Then he could look to your right and see me riding with you.
I agree with your dates, but I don't believe this guy. He did not serve 5 years in Vietnam. I don't think that he is a SEAL either. I'll leave that to the "Real Deal" guys.
Take care and thanks for your service!
"He is obviously a Muslim Imam today who supports Kerry. Big surprise. Anybody reading the article can draw the inference and likely discount it. You don't have to destroy everybody who offers an opinion, even if they are Muslim."
=====
Muslims teach that all Christians and other non-muslims should be killed or enslaved.
muslims are Christianity's mortal enemies and therefore America's mortal enemies. You don't want to be a mortal enemy of mine or America? Then I suggest you find a religion that doesn't have as it's main belief my destruction or subjigation.
You are too kind sir!!
The best I can do is ask God to bless you and yours.
(I'll try to think of a cool response tomorrow!)
In an earlier post -- this "SEAL" told the Freeper who called his residence that he had in fact "changed his name"..
Could be true...
We won't really know his true status, until he agrees to release his "former name"...
It is entirely possible he was a SEAL and served in Vietnam...
BUT - I find it difficult to accept that a SEAL with his claimed credentials would NOT inform the NAVY and SEAL associations of his name change so as NOT to end up on the SEAL Wall of Shame....
We may never know about this guy...
I just hope he is not being falsely painted.
I think we all know how that feels...
THAT being said --- I am somewhat biased against ANY fool that would convert to Islam in this day and circumstance...

Checked out your list...just an observation. None of them look like they would change their name to Ahmad Majied
"He's not listed as MCPON. He gave his rank as MACM. Both are E-9. There are several othe E-9 master chief designations."

Well, I'm sure you can understand FUBAR when you see it.
