Ever notice posters here and the bloggers always link to sources, that the utmost effort is made as to vetting and veracity. If found to be lacking in either, it is slapped down in nano seconds by said posters peers.
Hell, the moderators alone here at FR make old media editors look like Hillary's turtles on a fence post.
And the old media has the nerve to say the Bloggasphere is unvetted and without editors? If only they should be a fraction as honest and truthful.
LOL, reading it while listening to "Twisted Sisters" "We're Not Gonna Take It!"
Excellent rant, PD!
WELL PUT!
I think the definition below of the word "Amateur" about sums it up for us all.
"Word History: When Mrs. T.W. Atkinson remarked in her 1863 Recollections of the Tartar Steppes and their Inhabitants, I am no amateur of these melons, she used amateur in a sense unfamiliar to us. That sense, a lover, an admirer, is, however, clearly descended from the senses of the word's ultimate Latin source, amtor, lover, devoted friend, devotee, enthusiastic pursuer of an objective,

You know when a similar revolt happened in France there were a bunch of folks that lost their heads.
I'd be satisfied if they lost their jobs and had to find decent work instead of the swill slinging they do now.
BRAVO!
I only get my news here, FOX News (TV and internet) and talk radio. It's all I need. No newspapers either.
Thanks for a great essay. We know they're watching!
I agreed with the "rant" so much that I forwarded it to the alphabet news boys. Need more of the same..
half the fun of blogging is finding fault with something not to cut someone down but to get to the truth...something MSM forgot a long time ago...you are 100
% correct, no sources and one will be called on it within half a minute or two...

Thanks for the ping HiJinx, well worth the read.

Will do, NNNE!
Exactly! I found this comment posted on the INDC blog:
"It used to be that we needed a free press in order to keep the government honest, and now we need the blogosphere to keep the press honest."
my new tagline - thanks to poster "Jewel" on INDC
Here is a example of how our media old-timey, that is, has not made much mention of to the viewship of the country as a whole: Over 9 MILLION people in Afghanistan have registered to vote. On a World news channel, they show people in long lines like as for food or ice or something, waiting to get their voter cards. Women with their faces proudly revealed but still properly head-covered, tell the reporter from Sweden they are thrilled to have the chance to vote in this election. A man says that he is looking forward to his country being able to hold an election. To us, it seems mundane, but, the Afghanistanis seem thrilled by it. WE are responsible for this taking place. People should know about it in "depth" as old out-going Blather would say.
So. What do we get from our own media? At the most, on the evening news, I think I saw once, about a week or so ago, a four second blip that went like "people in Afghan mummbbblllee to mumb vote in their election but the chances of that happening are sure to be diminished by factions who are against it(gloomy voice over by the reporter, and NO PICTURES of the happy people over there.
Pukin Dog, I think I'm infatuated with you. Be still my heart!! lol
