The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

Speaking of this, JP, when reading some links while googling on the Cat Stevens story, it seems he went to that ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) conference in Chicago, the one that's held every year at the Rosemont. He attended the one in 1999 or maybe 2000, I believe.

Don't have a link now, but it's out there somewhere.

It's in pdf, so I can't copy and paste, but it speaks about Yusuf Islam being one of the most popular speakers there, and how he was followed around by some of his fans.

This seems to be about the convention of 2000, this newsletter is from Feb 2001.

Washington DC Conducting Two Day Mass-Casualty Exercise

(Washington, DC) - The Government of the District of Columbia will host a two-day emergency preparedness field exercise Thursday, September 23, 2004, at St. Elizabeths Hospital, and Friday, September 24, 2004, on the campus of Catholic University from 7 am - 8 pm each day. Residents and visitors in these areas will see “mock” emergency activities to include: large gathering of people, noise such as sirens, and smoke. This is only a drill.

During the exercise, first responders and key personnel from the District’s Emergency Management Agency, Departments of Health and Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Metropolitan Police Department, and various hospitals will test their emergency response equipment. Test messages will be communicated on emergency personnel devices such as scanners, pagers, and health alert networks. Each message will be clearly worded to indicate that it is indeed a drill. If a real emergency occurs during this time, the drill will end and emergency personnel will respond accordingly.

The exercise has the following objectives:

.Rapidly assess the needs of affected people at an emergency scene

.Coordinate the local Incident Command Structure (ICS)

.Determine whether local resources can adequately respond to an incident involving mass casualties

.Analyze the need for assistance from higher levels of government

.Test procedures for obtaining medicine from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS)

.Bring together health and medical services partners that would respond during an emergency

.Test the effectiveness of DC’s public health emergency system and

.Determine whether DOH, DC hospitals and emergency response personnel interact effectively

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE PROVIDED EACH DAY.
THE DISTRICT GOVERNMENT IS ASKING THAT THE MEDIA ASSIST
IN GETTING THE WORD OUT TO THE PUBLIC THAT VOLUNTEERS
ARE STILL NEEDED AND THAT THE FIELD EXERCISE IS JUST A DRILL.

playing the number game. per the previous discussion of 9/27 being 1,111 days after 9/11 here is another interesting discussion point. As of 9/27 there will be 36 days left until election day, 3+6=9.

Just came on board. I heard this morning that the Justice Department is increasingly concerned about terror attacks within the next few weeks (per Fox news alert- prior to the news conference regarding Iraq).

I'm sorry for butting in here but I just watched the two videos. I said I wasn't going to, but I did.

I feel dirty. I feel like I have a stain on my very soul. I feel like I have beared silent witness to an obscene, foul, disgusting act, which should not ever be perpetrated on another. Nor witnessed. How anyone can live with such violence, and hatred towards others is out of my realm. God Bless these innocent men and may he give comfort to their families. To watch a mans final minutes is not something I will do again. Death is personal. Between a man, his family, and his God. I will not watch another. My very being hurts now. I don't know if I can go back. God Help Me.

They had flown from the Ukraine to another country in the area- don't recall which- I believe it was one of the former states of the USSR. Both died shortly after landing. The reports indicated that officials bribed cargo inspectors not to look at what had been transported. I couldn't help but suspect some type of toxic cargo- nuke/bio- what would cause 2 young pilots to drop dead?

Another possibility could have been that the pilots knew what was being transported, and someone did not want them to talk.

The original AQ warning- which started this thread- was asking Muslims to Leave NYC, DC, LA and the "east side".

I think we all pretty much know what AQ is going to try to pull off.

OBL went to the trouble of obtaining religious justification from a young Egyptian cleric- to use weapons of mass destruction on US cities.

He's written several "pre attack" warnings for the US to leave Muslim lands, for US citizens to vote out the current Administration, and the like. Obviously, we have not complied.

He has even gone as far as obtaining religious justification for killing Muslims in a strike on the US.

What appears to have held him(them) back is not having everything firmly in place.

I'm not sure. I've read that NYC and DC have been on de facto "Orange" for quite some time. "Ultra" orange for NYC during the Convention.

FYI - Entering the Massachusetts Turnpike there is now extra scrutiny of cars and trucks at the toll plaza. This is old hate for New Yorkers but new in this area.
