The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute To our fallen comrades. So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could think of doing that is By taking a picture of Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could find a way to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if there was any way to get this into your papers to let the world know that "WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country."
Thanks.
I agree. And I agree with your opinion about the media coming back too. It's scary.
If luck matters in this, I hope you have a lot on your bike today. :-)
I have posted this as the second story in our new edition of Christian-news-in-maine.com with a link to this post for our readers to visit.
The story and link are below. Again my and the publishers thanks.:
IN MEMORIAM, SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
FreeRepublic.com
Unlike the legends in their own minds that make up the so called 'main stream media', we have joined with the wonderful men and women of FreeRepublic.com in remembering September 11, 2001. It was not a tragic accident like Peter Jennings, Dan Rather and their ilk would have you believe, no it was a savage act of first degree premeditated murder and terrorism. And act of extreme savagery, and act of sending idiot muslim satan worshipers to kill themselves in and effort to kill strangers.
This will take you some time to go through, but, it is well worth it.
It is those responsible for this act that John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, the French and the UN would rather we forget.

And thank God that He placed George Bush in the Office of Commander in Chief rather than Al Gore, a man who, even without any responsibilities, has gone completely insane since losing the election.
The Lord bless you and keep you--
the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you;
the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
Numb. 6:24-26.

Great work. Like your humble handle.

I took this photo at sunrise on September 12, looking west across the ruins of the World Trade Center, from the second floor of the World Financial Center on West Street. A lone FDNY firefighters stands in the foreground.
HERO
A little clutch of veterans share a table in a bar,
There's a guy off in the corner coaxing tunes from his guitar.
They watch the Hudson River as it rolls towards the bend
And they talk of Rick Rescorla as a comrade and a friend.
While out across the water, many ocean-miles away
Within a Cornish Tavern by a sandy Cornish Bay,
Another group are gathered, reminiscing as a clan,
And their thoughts are all of Tammy, from the schoolboy to the man.
And every head among them has a picture in its mind
Which time and place and memory have captured and consigned,
Now the pictures weld together until only one remains,
Of a sturdy, selfless hero guiding others from the flames.
It's a picture which unites them in their glory and their grief,
More eloquent than eulogies, confirming their belief
That theirs had been a privilege to saunter at his side
And in the way he'd lived his life had Rick Rescorla died.
The veterans recalled him in the killing fields of war
As a man whose potent presence would inspire and reassure,
Just one among his brothers when the skies began to fall,
Yet one whom they regarded as a father to them all.
And now their eyes will moisten at the mention of his name
And the sources and the substance of the legend he became,
When mayhem drove the best of men to crave their mother's love,
He'd stand and croon an anthem to the gory gods above.
And on that evil morning, so deceptively serene,
Amid another carnage, just as callous and obscene
Again he took the mantle of the sainted and the strong
To save the lives of others with a blessing and a song.
Between the Hudson River and the sandy shores of Hayle,
Though eyes encompass differences of latitude and scale,
All hands are linked together in the testament they bear,
They are but Rick Rescorlas friends, united by a prayer.

While the number of casualties were not as great at the Pentagon site, the individual casualties were great to each of their friends, families, loved-ones--they too should never be forgotten. Let no one be forgotten.
The Ponderosa "celebrates" the day
Not in the sense that Michael Moore and Noam Chomsky celebrate the anniversary of 9/11 -- as well-deserved retribution for our "sins" (e.g., support for Israel, "economic imperialism" and all that other hackneyed drivel) -- rather (!) we celebrate the very existence of America and the wonderful lives we live as a result of God's great generosity in, in our case, making this the land of our birth.
On the first anniversary, we observed the day with tears and recollections -- and certainly the images of the horrors should never be allowed to fade lest we lapse, as many already have, back into the 9/10 mindest-- but last year we decided on a different tack: live it up.
Engage, within reason, in the "debauchery" they so hate: bang your head to pounding heavy metal, sip your fave adult beverage, attend a sporting event and cheer till you spit up parts of your lungs, go to an "R" rated movie, fire up your huge t.v. and satellite system and watch "TVLand" all night, pray to any god other than Allah, motor all over your state in a mammoth SUV, light up an oversized cigar and smoke the whole thing, peruse "Barron's" and select a good stock to invest in when markets open Monday morning -- throw your fist in the air and holler "F-CK MOHAMMED!"
Never forget the nature of the enemy as evidenced by the atrocities of 9/11, and Beslan and Madrid, and understand he is not to be negotiated with or "understood", but crushed under the boot heel of a superior civilization.
Thank you so much for posting this.
I used to watch this video at least once a week.
I've NEVER been able to get ALL the way through it because I cry so much. It hurts as bad today as it did 9-11-01 and I didn't even lose a loved one that day. My heart goes out to all the families and I pray for them often.
This video should be a CONTINUOUS LOOP on ALL the major networks today. At minimum, it should have been shown continuously beginning with the time of the first plane until the towers fell (or whatever happened last).
So many in this country have indeed forgotten the pain of that day! I think they've been so dumbed down and treated the event as "entertainment or reality television" and simply moved on to something else when they grew weary of it.
I know I'm "preaching to the choir" when I say that we need to WAKE UP, AMERICA! My fellow freepers talk about the horror of that day often and will never forget. I hope there are some "lurkers" from the DNC visiting FR today and take a moment to watch that video and remember and realize they are supporting the WRONG GUY!
More importantly though, we all need to realize this is less about politics and more about the future of this country and the fight that we as individuals need to be ready for. I could go on, but I won't. I'll just end by saying prayers for all those families who lost someone and I promise to "NEVER FORGET."
