It sounded like his voice cracked when he segued into the topic. And he never referred to himself personally, it was always "CBS believes these documents authentic," "We at CBS stand behind our sources", etc.
Yep, I didn't pick up on that at the time but you're right. That's the kind of talking someone does when they want to do a REAL "CYA," instead of a forged one....LOL
