One guess is that Stolen Honor was scheduled to be reviewed/discussed on September 9. This is the first instance of a large group of POWs against Kerry--a group that was not, contrary to what MSNBC said in the first five minutes of Hardball, a 527. Their testimony would normally be extremely difficult to discredit; so the best way not to have to discredit is not to air -- due to some other breaking story.

Who would have had a CYA entitled memo typed by an assistant? No way.

"The 'rag' content in 1970's paper would be different than today's paper. Also to see if they match other paper out of the office of Col. Killian. Older docs are no longer white-white but off color or yellowed if not stored properly.
"

That's silly. You want some paper from 1972? Let me just get my notes from that year. There's always a blank sheet or two in there. Are they yellowed? Yup. Are they from 1972? Yup. I'll pull out my old Royal typewriter, too, or maybe the Smith-Corona on the shelf. It's ribbon may be that old as well.

To throw out the typeface as proof is not necessary.

I know that...the poster was skeptical about the typeface, so I gave him another reason it was considered a forgery that was not based on the typeface alone.

"Maybe we need a thread on debunking all the forgery theories here. The ones that stand up to intense scrutiny should fall out and be the ones that we use. Frankly some of the threads have gotten ridiculous."

Sorry. I don't have a month. FR is great, but some threads are just insane. It would be nice, but it would deteriorate into nonsense. Just above here is a message saying that they should carbon-date the paper on the original, as though there isn't lots of paper from 1972 sitting around. I could get some in five minutes from my notes from that year. Silliness.

"-flight physical (medical) was ordered no later than 5/14 but his birthday was in July is that correct procedure?-"

Physical would be required no later than 31July (last day of birth month).

"Hackworth? That wouldn't surprise me."

What is it with Hackworth? Isn't he suppose to be for Bush? Maybe, he is another McCain.

DemocRAT in sheeps clothing.

Yes you could get some paper from 1972 and you could probably get a typewriter from then too, but whoever manufactured these docs didn't get the typewriter so who would think they would bother to get the paper? silliness indeed...

Not to mention one memo refers to receiving pressure to "sugarcoat" from a general who had retired a year earlier.

Anyway, I recall reading somewhere (Michener's The Source?) that carbon dating is approximate within 1000s of years, not 30 years.
