I'm for increasing taxes on the rich like Kerry. 15% flat tax for everyone, no loopholes, no deductions.

I agree. Completely.
Unfortunately, and entire industry has a vested interest in keeping the tax code as Byzantine and impenetrable as possible.
The more convoluted and impossible to understand the tax code is, the better for those folks.
