Personally, I'd like to see Bush respond to this crap. I'm outraged about it and although Bush has been dignafied and endured the most mudslinging in political history, it has to stop. Ignoring all their outrageous charges has been appropriate until now, IMO. This is different. Now a national news organization is trying to interfere with the election. This isn't "politics as usual". Bush needs to speak up.

CNN's Inside Politics just opened with Terry McAughliff demanding that Pres. Bush answer the questions brought up by the memos and why he's lying. No reporter questioned him about the forgeries (at least they didn't show any). It looks like that will be the tact. Ignore the hoax and rev up the attacks.
Unbelievable.

Edwards is trying to, in effect, call Bush to the "witness stand." He figures if he can lure Bush into responding, he put him on the defensive and if Bush refuses to take the bait, Edwards can then accuse him of dodging, of essentially "taking the 5th." Bush's best response is "no comment," just like the WH did when CBS tried the same tactic Edwards is now deploying.
It's up to people like us and the alternative media to confront CBS and Rather on these forgeries.

Well CBS is standing by the story. This is why.
It's interesting that the originator of this article has pulled this story from their web site. Curious.

So John Kerry should not have to answer any questions raised by living people who actually served with him, but Bush should answer questions raised by FORGED DOCUMENTS?
To: silverleaf
They should have Max Cleland personally wheel up to PO Box 34567 and try to shove an angry letter into it.
To: chris1
This group has spent hundreds of millions of dollars against Bush. And they can't even buy a GENUINE 1970's typewriter on eBay?
Oh that's right. John Edwards has never HEARD of eBay.

F STANDS FOR FORGERY!
This would make an excellent sign for Freeping an event. (Or a good bumper sticker).
To: Arpege92
I'd like to Bush to comment on the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny! They were all given no bid contracts by Halliburton.

It's difficult to address a bold-faced lie. Only a two-bit ambulance chasing lawyer could accomplish that.

I'd like Bush to comment on Bigfoot sightings, Roswell, and Batboy's involvment in the Iraq war.Your comment summarizes my opinion on this subject. There are people on this website who believe that it is our responsibility to debunk this crap conclusively. Your Bigfoot is a perfect example of the stupidity of that belief. This guy Rather pulls scat out of his toilet and the world is supposed to consider truth until all other explanations are eliminated? What nonsense.

I'd like Edwards to comment on whether or not it is true that the closest he got to wearing a uniform for this country was getting kicked out of the girl scouts. Give me 5 minutes and I could whip out some documents related to John Edwards' Girl Scout service that would be VERY EMBARASSING to explain.

I agree. Who is Edwards to question anybody about military service? The same goes for all of the RATS, male and female, who are involved in the Kerry campaign and who have not served in the military. George Bush could have gone to Canada or gotten duty in Japan, such as Senator Harkin did. He served honorably in the ANG and to insinuate, as RATS do, that Natl Guard service is not honorable is to demean all other Guard members. The only weapon the RATS have is the use of scandal and mud slinging since they do not want John Kerry's 18 yr, most liberal senator, record discussed. Better that Edwards should talk about how his millions came from suing health providers and thus raising health insurance costs for all of the public.

Edwards, an eminently forgettable vice presidential candidate.
Btw, as I've asked before, does the quoting of him mean they've found him?

It's the old tar baby trick. Kerry went for it and now he's stuck. And Edwards wants Bush to grab onto it too. Don't think so!
