I just checked the DUmmies website (Oh, forgive me). They are in a fit over this story! They are yapping about a Selectric typewriter that existed back then that "could" have been used. That is a long way from actually being used.
That one was mine, I tell you, and there is no way that anybody but me used it!
That was the One Typewriter That Ruled Them All.

The thing could have beeen typeset on a Linotype machine too, but there's "could have" and "likely". They are grasping at straws. The Selectric explanation only carries so far. It doesn't explain the perfect match of spacing with a Word document. That simply is not likely to happen in the world of type, and they know it.
....and it "could" have been in the military natioan guard?
What if the typewriter were a manual typewriter?
Can we nominate the Blogers or post number 47 for a pulitzer prize?
