Do you know statistics, which party voters mostly support that idea? Or which party is more popular in the east and which on the west. It will help me to understand this situation.

Btw I think that any society no matter how good live they have will never be fully satisfy. Although this time situation is very strange, cause two separate German countries will never such strong as one united country.

I agree, one in five is pretty good. The title is meant to make a drab but optimistic story colorfull and negative.

I agree. From 10% to 20% of any given population is not satisfied. Either way.

The West Germans, with all their wealth and know-how, never managed to produce a car comparable to the East German Trabant.

"which party voters mostly support that idea?"

When East Germany disintegrated, the SED (Socialist Unity Party -- i.e. the Communist RULING Party) decided NOT to disintegrate and changed it's name to PDS.

(Not the SPD: SPD is the regular leftist party in Germany, Schroeder's party.)

PDS gets hardly any votes outside of the former Eastern states. Older people, people traumatized by the fast change and couldn't keep up; etc. It will fade over time. Some SAY they want the wall back, but that is just a way of voicing their frustrations. They of course would not REALLY want the wall back and all the other "niceties" of life in the Communist-run DDR.
