It's just a chance to trot out Carville/Begala's new soundbites to see which ones goose the partisans. The press will call it tough, but they won't like it.

Yep. Just a few new soundbites in there, all attacking Bush, none expressing Kerry's position.

Martha points out that there was lots of domestic policy stuff in this speech. Rat comment on "wrong" choices. Bobby Burchfield for the Republicans says tone is a bit more aggressive, harsh, and strident...but no specifics. Burchfield says speech is full of criticism, but no specific plan for changing the situation in Iraq.
