Folks, it's a State Department release, not a Defense Department release. It's diplomacy. Of course they're going to say this. A State Department doesn't say "wow, go kick their ass, Sea Bass!". What the State Department urges others to do publically and what we discuss with them in private are often two different things, as history has shown.

Didn't hear anyone make that distinction when the RUSSIAN State department declined to back the US invasion of Iraq, urging instead negotiation? Then everyone was saying how evil Russia was. Guess it's ok for the US state dept. to excuse terrorism but not for the Russian state dept. huh?
