"It's not so harmless if it encourages one of his supporters to act on it.
I have a very low tolerance for jokes about shooting the president no matter how harmless the intent.
Remember how Hinckley shot Reagan because he thought it would impress Jodie Foster? Who's to say that Kerry's thoughtless remark won't plant the same idea in some unhinged supporter? Remember too how the 'rats have cultivated an atmosphere of extreme hatred for the president..."

"Saying that you want to be able to take a firearm to your debate with him could easily be construed as a threat.
It is also an inducement to others of like mind or on your "side" to signal your desire that they too should use a gun in a debate with President Bush.
Kerry is guilty of a Federal crime - he should be arrested, charged, and tried.
This is not a joke.
There are thousands of deranged, deluded, or ideologically motivated potential assasins out there.
Many would love to please the Democratic nominee, and he now has laughingly motivated them to harm the President.
This is NO joke.
It is very serious."

Just some thoughts about Kerry's very stupid remark! And, just think what would have happened to Bush if he said this!!!
Here are two comments made earlier today ... from two Freepers that should make you think.
The only thing those comments make me think is that some FReepers here have lost all sense of perspective, if not their grip on reality. Kerry is a dolt, but guilty of a federal crime? Arrested, charged and tried? Come on.
Bush has made some stupid, tasteless jokes as well. Like this:
"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."
That was a joke, but some people are actually living under dictatorships. What's humorous about advocating tyranny and oppression?
And what about this?:
"Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere." (Laughter and applause.) ... "Nope, no weapons over there." (Laughter and applause.) "Maybe under here." (Laughter.)
Is it in good taste to joke about the the search for WMD that cost hundreds of Americans their lives? Oh, but the president said it, so that makes it funny!
With so many FReepers taking Kerry's remarks so seriously, is it any wonder that some people fear the Republican Thought Police? Let's try to keep things in perspective.
