Great to see you and Foxfire7 again, too! I love my new bracelet :-) Too bad it rained on you Sunday, though.

You have to wonder what Sweyn Forkbeard or Olaf Tryggveson would think of modern Scandinavia, particularly the Moslem invasion ... The Byzantines hired Vikings to fight the Moslems, back when Swedes had gumption!

Monday at 3:00 we got hit with a thunderstorm that led with a 40+ mph wind gust...I was hanging onto the tent for dear life, we almost lost it!

I've often wondered what would possess Arab Moslems to move to Norway and Sweden. If you could think of a place less like the Middle East than Scandinavia, I'd love to hear it, I can't.

The Norwegians proved that they had a backbone as late as World War II, when they gallantly fought the Nazis as long as they could in 1940. (The Danes, by comparison, surrendered in a single day after only a token defense.) And the Finns were soldiers that the Germans and Russians both learned to respect; they're fiercely proud of their heritage in the 1939 Winter War and the 1941-44 "Continuation War," and rightly so. But they've grown sleek and lazy on government largesse, willing to pay brutal tax burdens to ensure their comfort. I wonder if the Scandinavian countries will ever wake up to the threat germinating in their midst and regain some of that proud heritage. Who knows.

We do still have the Swedish Bikini Team, at least...bork bork bork!
