A student from Iran introduced herself in class and responded to a question about why she had immigrated to the US by stating that she had converted to Christianity from Islam.
Two Muslim students actually jumped up in anger when she said that. I demanded that they leave the room or sit down and they sat down after consulting with each other in Arabic.
The Iranian student who has converted was not surprised at their behavior and merely reflected on the atrocities that have been perpetrated on people such as her.
It is a capital offense for a Muslim to convert to Christianity, or to any other religion for that matter.
I can absolutely understand someone not sharing with their family something that could hurt both them and their family. Religon, like politics and eating habits, are personal and punishable in some famiies.
Of course most families practice methods of punishment that aren't quite as finite as those that some muslims use.
I supposed these death threats came only from the "radical Islamists" (that have "hijacked the great religion of Islam", and none of which exist among the US population of Muslims) and not from the "moderate Muslims" already living in the US?
Cult. Cult. Cult.
