Is that really the reason? I want to reserve judgement until we hear more about what happened. Still I can't fault those men for wanting to defend their families. It seems that the Russian military wasn't handling the situation too well. I can't forget how they handled the theatre being held hostage a few years ago when they gassed the innocent as well as the terrorists and 120 innocent civilians died as a result.

It's not THE ONLY reason, but one of.
And I can not fault those man, too. I blame the local authirities.

And about that Nord-Ost two years ago-THAT operation was well-planned and well-conducted. There was no other way out of the situation. A friend of mine died there....What was the crime-it's to let 40 armed bandits into the heart of Moscow.
