The AP Changes "Boos" to "Ooohs" (Finally getting the truth out)

NEW YORK The Associated Press changed "boos" to "ooohhs" Friday afternoon in reporting on President George Bush's first statement to supporters on the heart ailment that has befallen former President Bill Clinton.

In a dispatch sent to subscribers in early afternoon, the AP reported that when Bush, at a campaign rally in West Allis, Wisconsin, told the crowd that he wished to send Clinton his "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery," the audience "of thousands booed. Bush did nothing to stop them."

Pretty damning, except that AP soon changed its story, only after the original appeared on many Web sites.

Several Web sites revealed that AP "retracted" the report "citing uncertainties about how to characterize the crowd's reaction."

The new version moved on the wire Friday described the same incident this way, after relating Bush's remarks: "The crowd reacted with applause and with some 'ooohs,' apparently surprised by the news that Clinton was ill."

A Knight Ridder/Tribune (KRT) report put it this way: "Some in Bush's audience booed when he wished Clinton well...." The AFP wire report declared that after Bush's statement "thousands of boisterous supporters clapped respectfully."

Thanks for the post and support.

It is the DemonRats that make fun of diseased and/or handicapped Republican politicans. Reagan while having alzheimers and Dole with his war injuries, and how they wished they were dead. It's probably a blessing that Max Cleland is a Democrat, otherwise, he'd be known as 'Bob'.

Whenever, I see/read one of these outrageous lies by a reporter, I run a Yahoo search on him/her/it with gay as part of the search.

"Good policy. I've done the same in the past, and found some interesting "connections."

It is amazing. When the Jason gay liar of the NY Slimes was exposed, this gay conservative friend told me then that Jason was just the tip of the Gay Agendist Iceberg in the print media. Then, he suggested that I do the searches whenever one of these outrageous stories appears or if some acts up like at our convention. It is amazing the connections that show up.

Several Web sites revealed that AP "retracted" the report "citing uncertainties about how to characterize the crowd's reaction."

The local newspaper (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, an AP client which hosts the local AP offices in its building) went with APPLAUSE:

En route here we just received news that President Clinton has been hospitalized in New York. He is in our thoughts and prayers. We send him our best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery. (Applause.)

So many of the gay activists walk hand-in-hand with the commie activists. Hays and Charlebois certainly do/did.

They also posted the audio.

But they have not mentioned the AP lie.

Some time ago, a hit piece was run on one of the finest Catholic priests alive today, Fr. Benedict Groeschel.

When I did a little googling, I found that the reporter who wrote the piece was formerly the head of some "gay & lesbian" journalist association, and thus, quite possibly had an agenda against this conservative Catholic priest.

The Internet has truly empowered the common man.

Female reporter. I think Al Rantel might have named her on his show last night but I don't remember it.

But AP is still refusing to name the reporter of their anonymous hit piece, aren't they?

Apparently he has been outed by a blogger using Lexis-Nexis, and his name is Tom Hays. I think he should receive a massive Freep.

Booing the AP(AP reporter ID'ed using Lexis-Nexis)

Is it just me? I seem to have some vague recollection of some other story, written by this same reporter some months ago, along the same lines.

Anyone remember anything?

"David Charlebois lived in Washington, D.C., with his domestic partner. The Advocate, a national news magazine for the gay community, said he'd been with his partner, Tom Hay, for 14 years. It also said he worked for domestic-partner benefits for pilots, and was a member of a gay pilots association."

This has gone on for the last 3 1/2 years and until conservatives really make up their mind to address it, it will not stop.
The so called "Mainstream Media" is corrupt and has an agenda. They know that once they put something out there all of the recantations in the world cannot wipe it away.
You will also notice when most lies are told on Conservatives or Republicans and people they could care less about the retraction is always put somewhere in the newspaper burried away or mentioned at a time when less people will here it.
It could be stopped and addressed. It is a known fact the so called "Mainstream Media" survives only because of moderates and conservatives and if you don't believe it look at the radio. Most liberals fade when you put them out there on the radio airwaves and the reason being most liberals want to be entertained and listen to a lot of music and view mostly smut.
Look at who led the ratings in the Republican Convention and you will see why the Liberals have their Senators writing the FEC and trying to stiffle FOX.
Folks, if Conservatives don't soon come together and take a stand we wont be able to.I mean like singling out and boycotting these people. The liberals use the court system through liberal judges to manipulate and rewrite the law. They are not only rewriting our law they are subverting our Constitution and getting away with it with the help of the so called "Mainstream Media". What has happened to "Memo Gate"? It has been swept under the rug and their is no better proof in the world as to what is going on with our so called "Judicial System" and the way it is being manipulated than that single incident. Trading votes and money for stopping the appointment of a judge that could upset their affirmative action agenda.
Make no mistake about the upcoming election it is about many things but the most important one is the U.S. Supreme Court. We can sit back if we wish and allow activist judges help the Democrats overthrow our government and constitution and it will be hell to pay for those we leave behind. If you want a dictator don't vote or vote Democrat!
Every principle America was founded on has eroded and without sound leadership at the least terrorist will be taking over our schools like in Russia and at worse we will have a dictator to go along with it.
If America doesn't take a stand those I love will see America disintegrate worse than the old Roman Empire.

Yes, when we see an article that seem filled with hate instead of objective reporting, it is interesting to run a computer check on the writer.

Or if an article shows a whole lot of so called big names for Kerry or whatever rat, do a check on the big names re political donations. Suddenly these fair and balanced biggies are exposed to be rat donors for decades. We did this the CEO and Owner of Slim Fast when the Whoopi garbage mouthing appeared, and we found out that he was a massive/long time donor to the rats.

"The AP should be exposed for the lying b-ds that they are!"

This statement sums up the main issue in the current main steam news media coverage of politics and other social issues in this country today. The MSM is not bias. Repeat MSM is not bias. They lie all the time on most stories ever night and day. NBS/CBS/ABS/CNN are the leaders of the lying pack headed by Broklaw,Rather and Jenning and the CNN head. These people control the lying agenda for MSM TV and do it ever day. Just as adverting tries to convert customers by repeating the MESSAGE very day, MSM TV heads do the same thing with their lies. To REPEAT!

"The AP should be exposed for the lying bastards that they are!"

Good blog! Thanx! This is one of my personal obsessions. I call the entire thing the Journo Wars. It is a war for our minds.

Thanks for the kind words -- good coinage, too. I call the enemy combatants "journopolemicists". I suppose "apparatchiks" would also be appropriate, but unrevealing of their use of journalistic cover.

My nomination for Alpha Male Journopolemicist is David Broder. You can almost see his metaphysical "I'm-smarter-than-you-and-know-tons-more" briar pipe stuck in his little stealth-liberal smirk. His affectation of eirenic equanimity, triangulating himself perfectly above the fray, was already wearing thin on me when finally his mask slipped one day. During an election-coverage broadcast in 2000, he was at table with the usual suspects from, iirc, ABC News, when someone brought up the name of Alan Keyes. Instantly the mask of imperturbability fell away, his lip curled into a picture-perfect snarl, and he absolutely sneered aloud at the name of the hated Keyes -- I bellowed aloud, "AHAAAAAAA!!!!" -- flushed out at last! I knew it!! Revealed at last!

If Alan Keyes never again does anything worth talking about in his public life, he will have flushed one of the biggest undercover Clymers in all of print and electronic media.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'm remembering correctly. I think there was a similar controversy over an AP story earlier this year, and this was the reporter who wrote.

Please, FReepers, put on your thinking caps, and see if you can remember this for me!
