I would have stayed. Better to all die together at once, than to die the slow death of knowing that you left your daughter in the hands of a monster. You chose the life of your son over your daughter.

I can certainly understand your emotional reaction.

However, I cannot agree with it.

It is better for one person to die than three.

I hope and pray I will never have to make an awful choice, but in her shoes I would have done as she did.

Of course, from what the stories are saying, as a man they would have killed me quickly, so I would never have faced this choice.
