To be more specific. Boorda commited suicide - NOT for wearing medals he didn't earn, but for (mistakenly according to him) wearing a "Combat V" on his EARNED Bronze Star.

Incorrect. Boorda was incorrectly wearing the Combat V on both the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal. Boorda was not and is still not authorized the Combat V on either medal. Boorda, who was being treated for depression, killed himself for reasons few, if any, people know. Blaming it on the Combat V issue is specious at best.

Right! Like that entirely specious suicide note? HE sure seemed to think they were related.

If you're saying he was suffering from a disorder and THAT caused him to kill himself I dount anyone would disagree (no entirely sane man kills himself over a pip on a medal), but let's not pretend it wasn't related.
