Don't think so? I'd snap. For sure. I'd kill those animals everywhere I thought they might be. Returning the remains of the bodies to family...with the cliche pig parts stuffed into orifices.

Then kill that family too. They raised the b*stards.

A kinder war is not an option. Islam must go. Forever.

I am not all that brave. Maybe more than some, less than others. Old Viet Nam boy. Don't worry, Ma'am, there are lots and lots of good men in this country. We will do what is needful.

Trade places? Never thought about it. I was thinking more about getting a bunch of tiny radios into that school, the kind used when the Japanese Embassy was taken over by Leftist killers some years back. Some guns. A bunch of fragmentation grenades. Report back to the Spetznatz laddies outside the exact position of each hostage and each walking dead man target. Never waste yourself. Spend yourself wisely.Besides, those killers want the children. That is why they took the school. They want to kill those kids mean and then throw the bodies out in the street.

Begging your pardon, Ma'am.

Mecca is that pain threshold. They love death, death means nothing. But they fear losing the black moon-god rock.

Let's see just how much they love death and how much love they can handle. Take 10,000 Chechens, put them in a concentration camp and then tell the terrorists "now we talk.' Talks don't go well, the 10,000 get machine gunned until they're meat paste. Then start over with 20,000. Lather, rinse, repeat, repeat, repeat. If all the hostages are killed, all remaining Chechens get transfered to the old Soviet gulags in Siberia.

This is probably older news. Several chechen women took some adult men as hostages and blew themselves up holding onto the men. Killed about 20 adult male hostages. Just reported, apparently, by one of the women released recently.

They're asking now for bodies to be sent out.

And no children have been killed, according to the pediatrician.

Yes, I do understand what is going on in that building.

They will throw out the heads first.

It would be sheer death to volunteer to enter that building,
and I doubt the terrorists would allow fresh men to enter the building.

Of course we have many brave men, in many countries.

I have no doubt that you would do whatever was needed, at the time it was needed.

The problem is with the ones who are not brave.

Putin will not snap. He has iron self control. His revenge will be very serious, not impulsive. There will not be a Moslem in the world who will not rue this day for the rest of his life, however long that is. (Hehe, "hope I die before I get old", old Who song.)

Me, I am more the impulsive sort of guy. What goes through my head is not practical, but would certainly convince more than a few liberals that I should be locked up immediately if not executed just in the interest of public safety!

There is a breaking point. We are only human. These are children for heaven's sake. I don't think we can treat such a treat any more lightly than we can treat a crazed animal. As parents, as a people, we may be compelled to deal with this threat in much the same way.

The one thing Putin wants to avoid here is a repeat of Budennovsk. Since this is Basayev behind the scenes, he knows to step out carefully.

This is classic Basayev in action. Refusing food and water, taking very vulnerable hostages, laying mines around the outside of the building.

Russia has played this game before and will approach it differently this time. But at least they know who they are battling now.

What the hell are we going to do if they take a large school of little kids hostage here in the USA?

It's not that hard to think of what to do, but for some reason it's hard to bring ourselves to do it. We no longer have the killer instict, the vicious streak, that eneabled us to slaughter our enemies by the millions in previous wars.

If a large school full of children is taken hostage by muslims, we should round up all muslims and place them in a concentration camp. Call it a concentration camp, not a relocation area or other Orwell-speak. Bring in bulldozers, dig long trenches, line up the prisoners on the edges of the trenches, bring in soldiers with machine guns, then contact the hostage takers and tell them we're ready to talk. The terms: all the hostages released within 30 minutes or we start reducing our Islamic population 10,000 at a time. If the hostages are all killed, the prisoners are also.
