Why John Kerry is not Dead
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/commentary.html#9_01_04_1257 ^

I don't want to be thought of as the splash of cold water on the success of the GOP Convention so far. It think it's going great and Kerry is lookinga little battered right now.

However, he is far from dead. This race is far from over. Kerry has a Rasputin-like ability to come back from the dead. We all need to realize this.

With that in mind, click on the link to yesterday's commentary on RealClearPolitics.com.

Opinions anyone?

"Why John Kerry is not Dead"

Because his swift boat fled the scene when danger erupted.

There is a percentage of conservatives with a fear of winning. You are not alone. Perhaps a self-help group for the lot of you?

"Why John Kerry is not dead."

He ducked in time to avoid most of the shrapnel from his own poorly placed grenade.

Pulling a rabbit out of Kerry's hat isn't going to do him much good. He needs to figure out how to stuff the elephant back in.

However, he is far from dead.

Nah, he's dead. The MSM and leftist hatred for President Bush are keeping him alive.

Anyone who thinks its over is smoking dope. It will be over if Bush gets a big bounce from the convention and the press turns on Kerry as a loser and rips him apart. As long as Kerry can keep it close the press is gonna defend him, he's their boy.

The REAL reason John Kerry is not dead is that he escaped the dangers Vietnam by bailing out early -- lying to get his medals and annoying everyone he served with.

His fellow servicemen told him to get lost and go home. If he had stayed a full year or more he would be a name on a black wall.

"They are doing damage and spin control for Kerry because he has been unable to pull a rabbit out of his hat, and if he still can't manage it before the middle of October, he's as good as no longer in the race."

Which is how Hillary and Bill and butthead McCaulife want it...2012 is alot farther away than 2008.

And I am getting VERY sick of Fox having him on every hour lying his butt off. John Gibson was the last patsie to have him on. Are they just too lazy to get someone the audience may want to hear?

I'm glad that you posted that,I too have qualms about us getting too cocky before the fat lady sings. What you posted about sKerry's supposed supernatural ability to come back puts it into perspective, that it's always been in different circumstances before. I don't want to be cocky, but I don't want to be running scared either.Thank God for President Bush, who has more quiet and steady confidence than even his staunchest supporters-of whom I am one-sometimes do. That is EXACTLY the kind of man of which great leaders are made, especially in wartime.

I doubt very much that Karl Rove & Co. will allow themselves (or the President) to become overconfident. Kerry is a relentless campaigner and will not go quietly. The real test will be the debates. If Bush is ahead minimally by 3-4 points immediately after the 2nd debate, then Mssr. Kerry may very well be "pining for the fjords".

It is true that Kerry has had several come from behind

victories in MA when everyone thought he was a gonner. He

has been attacked on many of the same points he is being

attacked on now.

HOWEVER, his bs line has worked in the People's Republic.

Ohio,Florida,W. Virgina and Missouri are a different ball

game.

incumbents always win when approval rating is at or above 50 at this stage in the campaign

Puff Daschle's approval rating was 61% in a Republican poll showing Thune leading him by 2 points with similar approval ratings.

And the number one reason why Kerry is toast? Kerry.

Also, the left is against the war but too ashamed to say so. They want to govern the country without honestly saying what they will do. Which is more than a little crazy, when everybody within the orbit of Mars knows what the election is about and what they would do, on the only issue that matters.

We are so used to po-mo craziness at this point that we rarely pause to notice just how deeply warped this is. Everyone knows they are peaceniks, among themselves they are proud to be peaceniks, and despise anyone who isn't. They think Bush must be ejected because he is a warmonger. So why don't they just say so, in so many words?

Give me one example.

The poster was clearly talking about the Kerry hamster. *kof*

No kidding. The polls are tied, which is a much stronger position than we were in a few weeks or months ago, but that's it. I feel better than I've felt in a long time but I know we have a good chance of not clearing the bar. I hope Bush's speech knocks it out of the park and gives him a bounce; every little bit helps.
