1. Obama would represent the needs of the citizens of Illinois rather than the personal whims of a demagogue whose need for cash made him the perfect choice for the corrupt and despicable Republican Party of the State of Illinois.
2. Obama can actually take a breath and listen to other views and therefore would be more likely to be able to work with other members of the Senate so disposed.
3. Obama would not deliberately insult the President of the United States.
4. He would recognize that pro-choice is going to be around just as long as the 16th & 17th amendments will be and not waste his time and our money fighting a hopeless cause.
5. He would recognize that limited government cannot exist by cutting taxes and spending vast sums on defense while seeking to bestow more control on the individual states.
6. He will oppose any litmus test for judges.
7. He will recognize that no one needs an AK-47 to hunt deer, nor an M-50 for grouse.
8. I don't know whether he fears God or not or what his family values are but given the peeping done against Mr. Ryan one believes Obama is squeaky clean.
You mean Keyes would pursue a personal agenda rather than go to work each day to benefit the state? This ties in directly with my response to point #2.
2. Obama can actually take a breath and listen to other views and therefore would be more likely to be able to work with other members of the Senate so disposed.
Obama's better ability to get along with other Senators is one of the best reasons he would be better for Illinois. What you haven't said is that this benefits the state by Obama's better ability to play pork-barrel politics. You're embarrassed to say that directly?
3. Obama would not deliberately insult the President of the United States.
If the President was John Kerry.
4. He would recognize that pro-choice is going to be around just as long as the 16th & 17th amendments will be and not waste his time and our money fighting a hopeless cause.
Having a pro-life Senator is going to hurt the state? I don't follow.
5. He would recognize that limited government cannot exist by cutting taxes and spending vast sums on defense while seeking to bestow more control on the individual states.
If cutting taxes and giving states more local control doesn't bring us closer to limited government, what will?
6. He will oppose any litmus test for judges.
Really? So when will he start appointing pro-life judges?
7. He will recognize that no one needs an AK-47 to hunt deer, nor an M-50 for grouse.
M-50? I think you mean a .50 BMG target rifle, but whatever. I doubt Alan Keyes has ever said the 2A is about hunting.
8. I don't know whether he fears God or not or what his family values are but given the peeping done against Mr. Ryan one believes Obama is squeaky clean.
How is this an argument for Obama being better than Keyes? It isn't.
There are lots and lots of good things Liberals can say about Obama.
1) Keyes will represent the interests of the sovereign State of Illinois to the Union. The US Representatives from Illinois will represent the needs of the people.
2) Obama is not interested in any view other than the marxist view.
3) Obama will insult the president of the United States every day of every week just as he will insult every freedom loving American. As a Marxist, he is a walking talking insult to America and the very concept of Liberty and self-government.
4) Keyes will work to get conservative judges appointed and confirmed. He will be a vote for abolishing the income tax. He admits repealing the 17th is a lesser priority.
5) Keyes will work for a strong national defense (one of the enumerated constitutional functions of the federal government) and at the same time will work for limited self-government.
6) See number 4.
7) Keyes supports the 2nd amendment 100% (and admits that it was not intended for hunting deer or grouse).
8) I believe Keyes is the God-fearing man he appears to be.
You sir, are clearly having some difficulty with reality:
1. Obama would - represent the interest of the national Democratic party over any other consideration, state or local.
2. Obama ca - actually take a breath and - listen to his marching orders from Tom Daschle and Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton.
3. Obama would - never on his worst day say a kind word about the President of the United States - unless he was a Democrat.
4. He would recognize - that Party loyalty is far more valuable to his reelection than taking contraversial stands on principle (opkay, so that's pretty much what you said)
5. Time out - where do you see Keyes advocating the sort of spending Bush is doing? Shouldn't you direct this one at Bush?
6. ARE YOU INSANE??? No litmus test? The Dims INVENTED the litmus test! Why do you think a dozen good men and women appointed by Bush aren't on the court now? Are you aledging that on the Senate floor, Obama will stand up to his fellow Democrats and insist that Bill Pryor and the rest be confirmed?
7. I'll let the gun expert crowd roast you on this one.
8. Yeah, right. I'm CERTIAN the Trib et al are salivating to expose the misdeeds of St. Obama. No, really, the MUST be...mustn't they?
Back to DU with ye.
Why aren't you on DU? Really. Everything you have just said is pure liberal tripe.
The Second Amendment isn't about hunting, kid.
